The Characteristics of Leadership: Qualities Earned, Not Given

Peace! The essence of leadership is never given because of your age, how long you have been studying, or who you walked or talked with. It is something that is earned through wise words and civilized ways and actions. Too many put themselves in positions of gatekeepers but have not earned the position. They claim to be the best knower, yet know little, and what they know is confined to a box of he said, she said.

True leadership leads to greater heights of understanding and a more in-depth commitment to the path from those who walk it. No one should ever be elevated to a position until they have proven, through their wise words and civilized ways and actions, that they possess the qualifications, commitment, humility, and courage required for that position. This truth does not stop at positions we see, it extends to identity itself, where being is proven by living, not by claiming.

The fact is, the Original Man is God by nature, b.u.t. this does not make him a true and living God. What makes him a true and living God? Not because he said so. Not even because someone else said so. B.U.T. because he has shown and proven, through the daily living of his true nature, that he is indeed God, not 85%, not 10%, not a Muslim, or anything outside his innate nature. This is his position of influence, and if he fails to claim it, he will become a naught in the greater reality of things. He loves not power for the sake of power. He utilizes power to refine, because only through refinement can he grow and elevate within the existence of self and all whom he teaches, guides, and leads.

This is the position of Allah the Father, passed on to the Gods, for the Father and Son are one, the Maker, the Owner, the Cream of the Planet Earth, the Father of Civilization, and the God of the Universe. These positions must be earned, never given or assumed. If you don’t cee them, they don’t exist. Plain and simple.

Understanding Self Allah

In this world men and women study many, many years to qualify themselves to wear the title: Such as Teachers, Scientist, Doctors, Nurses, Fathers and Mothers, Etc.… Often times titles are used to motivate men and women to strive for these positions of influence and power, b.u.t the very means by which men and women ascend to titles can often be the destruction of the organization which the titles were meant to serve.

Now arrogance has led men and women to not only a misunderstanding and b.u.t a misuse of their titles and their influence which brings them in opposition of the righteous. Their arrogance and false sense of pride cloud their thoughts so they misunderstand and then misuse, or misapply their functions, there by bringing about the death of an organization.

Privilege and title gives one status, and if we are emotionally immature, we will believe then that this status and privilege leaves us thinking that we are better than those whom we are commissioned to serve, and in this feeling of being better than other; Satan enters it, for this is the nature of Iblis or Satan in the Qur’an and Bible. Satan felt he could not submit because he felt better than those whom he was charged with responsibility of serving.

It is this understanding of the true nature, quality, and character of being a servant of the people by the way of the righteous that those in authority must learn and practice, or we will remain under the death of the old world order and instead of bringing life to our people we increase with death of the world. Now according to the Holy Qur’an, you can tell the righteous for they walk the Earth in humbleness, and if this you then the nature of you will not be corrupted by wild imaginations. This means that the essence of you will not be spoiled by delusions of grandeur.

Now being in a brotherhood is like the organs in your body, and each organ in our body has a title, a name, which denotes a function. However, at the root of the function is character, integrity, and honesty, the basis of which is Truth.

The quality of one’s knowledge alone does not sustain and maintain function, it is the quality of one’s knowledge combined with the quality of one’s character that sustains function and gives life to organization: just like our organs.

Now to strive for titles on the basis of knowledge alone and not sustaining that function with character nor being true to the title in every respect of that word renders us dysfunction, today men and women have titles and functions are devoid of character, however if these men and women are not true to the principles of truth then their function is not only a mockery of the titles b.u.t the truth as well and as a result, instead of being humble to our teacher and learning our lessons and mastering our assignments pride creeps in and then destruction and once this happens…What happens to Humility? And the quality of that service?

We as brothers and sisters should not exalt ourselves so that we who think we know may mislead others by making ourselves guardians of the nation. We must first study and qualify for the position that we may desire to hold. This in turn will allow us to grow into a title that is consistent with our own character and the nature of us that will make us unique from our brothers and sisters. Now in closing it shall be said that if you love influence, if you love power and status more than you love the equality of brotherhood then you are still dead and are a part of the dying world, however if you can give up these things this misunderstanding of that which makes one feel greater than his brother or sister, and accept to love and work for brotherhood or sisterhood above all, then you have indeed passed from death into life.

So my beloved brothers and sisters we who are the righteous amongst us admonish those; to strive no more for title, power, influence, or for a position of advantage over our brothers and sisters b.u.t instead let us serve our brothers and sisters with love and humility and promote the brotherhood of our nation here and throughout the world.

Peace! Titles without humility are empty, and knowledge without character becomes dangerous. True leadership is proven in service, not status, and its qualities, discipline, humility, accountability, courage, and love are earned through lived practice, not assigned by position. This truth applies to both our brothers and our sisters, yet history shows that the Black woman is too often overlooked, silenced, or pushed aside, even while carrying a heavy load.

This is why we have the Earth Cipher: to create a safe, structured space where Black women can build, reflect, and refine together. The Cipher exists to help us honestly identify areas of opportunity and weakness, not for judgment, but for strengthening character and sharpening leadership qualities. Within the Cipher, we hold one another accountable in love, restore confidence where it has been worn down, and develop the wisdom to lead without ego and the strength to stand without apology. Real influence is walking lightly, serving faithfully, and remaining true to truth in thought, word, and action. Peace!
