The Bomb: The Greatest Story Never Told
The Greatest Story Never Told, written by Beloved Allah and originally published in The Word in 1987, preserves an important account of the life, work, and legacy of Allah, the Father. The article traces his journey from Clarence Smith, born in Danville, Virginia, through his experiences in Harlem, military service in Korea, and his development as a teacher who would ultimately take Knowledge of Self directly to Black youth.
Its significance is found especially in Allah’s decision to “Teach the Babies.” He developed Supreme Mathematics as a foundation for teaching and, together with Justice, developed the Supreme Alphabet as tools young people could use to examine themselves and the world around them. Rather than abandoning youth whom society had labeled delinquent, troubled, or unreachable, Allah went directly to them and taught them Knowledge of Self.
That work became larger than one man. The First Born carried the teachings to other young people, helping the Nation grow, and Allah taught that the future depended upon taking care of and teaching the babies.
The story matters because Allah’s greatest monument is not simply what he said; it is what continued to live, grow, and be taught after him. As long as Gods and Earths continue to teach the babies, build within our communities, and put Knowledge into action, Allah lives through the work.
